Our members have a wide variety of diving experience, from new Ocean Diver trainees all the way through to Advanced Diver and Instructor levels. Our interests range from wrecks and marine biology, through to wildlife photography and technical diving. The important thing is that we all have a shared goal, which is to learn new things, develop our diving skills, and have fun! By being part of a club, we get to dive with people we know, and learn from each other’s experiences.
We enjoy the benefit of owning two RIBs which gives us the flexibility to dive wherever and whenever we want (subject to tides and weather of course!), we hold regular swimming pool sessions for training, testing out new kit, and swimming, and we have a full diver training programme delivered by our fully qualified diving instructors. Our club is a group of like-minded people, not a commercial dive school. Therefore, our instructors, although nationally trained, do not get paid for their time. They are doing what they do for the love of the sport.
We dive all over the UK and abroad, but you will often find us diving and camping in Dorset on a weekend. Most Bank Holidays we are away camping and diving, which will inevitably involve a BBQ or two. Dorset has some spectacular diving, with clear water, lots of wildlife, and tons of wrecks!
When we aren’t out diving, we also hold a number of social events throughout the year including, regular pub trips, meals out, bowling, BBQs, and bonfire parties, all culminating at the end of the year with a dinner dance. At the dinner dance we share stories about our diving adventures over the past year, present awards, hold a raffle, and tear up the dance floor! We also get involved in local community events throughout the year, joining the annual Eastleigh Light Parade with one of our RIBS, and volunteering our time to set up and take down the Netley Marsh Steam Rally.
We encourage our members to invite their non-diving partners and family members to join in with social gatherings, and they can also join the club as Social members if they would like to use the pool facilities on our regular club nights.
